Coins — the spending currency

Coins are what you buy with real money (or earn through daily tasks and events) and spend inside the app: unlocking songs, entering some rooms, and buying gifts for other singers. Coins flow out of your account, never into your payout balance.

Gifts and gold — what you receive

When a listener sends you a gift, they spend their coins and you receive value credited to your earnings side of the app. Bigger, animated gifts are worth more and also push your room higher in visibility, which is why gifting streaks matter during live events.

Diamonds — the payout currency

Received gifts convert into diamonds, which are the only balance that can be withdrawn. Conversion rates, minimum withdrawal thresholds and available payout methods are set by StarMaker and shown in the Wallet section of the app — check there rather than trusting a number quoted in a group chat, because these change.

VIP — visibility, not income

VIP is a paid membership that adds cosmetic and convenience perks: a badge next to your name, entrance effects in rooms, extra song access and profile features. It does not pay you anything by itself. It can help indirectly — a badge and entrance effect get you noticed in busy rooms — but if your goal is earnings, consistent live streams and collaborations move the needle far more than a subscription.

Is any of it worth buying?

• Buying coins to gift others can be a real networking tool — gifters get remembered and gifted back.
• VIP is worth it if you host rooms often and want the presence; skip it if you mostly post covers.
• Never buy from third-party "coin sellers" — those accounts get banned and there's no recovery.
• Track your diamond balance weekly so you know when you're near the withdrawal minimum.
